Microsoft is once again under scrutiny from Britain's Competition and Markets Authority. The regulatory body has initiated a probe to determine whether the technology giant should be classified with strategic market status. According to the CMA, there are significant worries that Microsoft may be stifling competition in cloud services through its suite of products, including Office applications, the Teams communication platform, the Copilot AI tool, and the Windows operating system. Achieving SMS classification would grant the CMA authority to implement corrective measures. The inquiry is scheduled to commence in May.
