The collector is a hybrid optical-power megastructure, not a single dense slab of ordinary powersats. The lighter outer regions are mostly passive reflector membrane. These redirect sunlight inward across the collector geometry. The heavier inner ribbons and central sections are the active elements: power conversion, switching, phase control, microwave generation, pulse-power handling, and high-temperature radiator fields. The dense active center sits near Mercury-Sun L1 or modestly solar-ward of it, while the much lighter reflector bands extend farther out.
